- We have recently returned from the field work for the University of Dallas'
Ecological features of reforestation sites at Leaves and Lizards Arenal Volcano Cabin Retreat, Costa Rica
research project. We created the EcoMap Costa Rica website in support of
the project; supervised the acquisition of field data and panoramic photos; and created the online interactive maps.
The site includes background information and student blogs. Student reports will be published soon.
The online interactive maps which are
implemented using MapServer, OpenLayers, and Virtual Earth.

What We Do
Winwaed Software Technology LLC provides software consulting and programming services.
We can take on most projects, but specialise in geographical and scientific applications.
We currently support the Gistix GIS Toolkit, and
produce and sell a number of
utilities for Microsoft's MapPoint application.
Recent projects include custom programming solutions for
Microsoft MapPoint, Destinator, and
MapServer with OpenLayers.
We have also worked with the University of Dallas Department of Biology on a number of projects including the ongoing
ecological study of reforestation sites in Costa Rica.
Why Winwaed?
The word Winwaed goes back to a major Anglo-Saxon Battle in 655AD.
Although the location of this battle is unknown, Richard Marsden (Winwaed Software Technology LLC's founder)
grew up at one of its most likely locations.
For further information, there's a website devoted to the
Battle of Winwaed.
