The following images were taken during the morning of 28th August 2007 (approx. 5:30am to 6:25am Central) from the University of Dallas campus.
There was quite a bit of haze, and light pollution was atrocious (not surprising considering the location in the centre of the DFW Metroplex and the spotlights). The pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel XTi (EOS 400D) with a Sigma 28-300mm lens. The zoomed in photographs are at 300mm, whilst the wider angle image was close to the 28mm limit. The XTi has sub-35mm sensor so effective focal lengths are closer to 450mm and 40mm. Aperture was set to 5.6. Exposures varied from 0.04sec (the darkest End image) to about 2:30 secs (totality). The zoomed images were clipped. All four have been saved wih a high level of JPEG compression.
