General Land Rover Books
Here are a selection of general Land Rover books, which can be purchased from the UK. Some are also
available in the US from links in the left column, although availability in the US is limited.
Repair and Restoration Manuals
These are produced by a number of publishers, but are dominated by Haynes.
When I owned a Series 3 109", I found the Haynes manual useful as a beginner. The photographs and
explanations are better for a beginner, although the precision of the official Land Rover workshop
manuals (see below) became more useful as I became more experienced at Land Rover maintenance.
Official Land Rover Parts Catalogues
Along with the workshop manuals (see below) the parts catalogues are invaluable.
When I owned a Series 3 109" I found the parts catalogue essential for identifying parts for ordering
from suppliers. The exploded parts diagrams are also useful when trying to assemble to disassemble
a particular assemblage.
Official Land Rover Workshop Manuals
These are the official workshop manuals from Land Rover, and are well recommended.
Diagrams and instructions are simple and easy to understand. I found the Series 3 Workshop Manual
was invaluable, when I owned a Series 3 109".

Official Land Rover Owner's Handbooks
These are the official owner's handbooks, which describe vehicle operation and simple repairs such
as replacing tyres and light bulbs. The military handbooks are more interesting, and include
appendices describing the correct procedure for vehicle destruction in the face of an advancing enemy!
